OUR CHILDREN’S RIGHTS IS FOREMOST DURING THIS PANDEMIC

Image
Disruptions to society have a heavy impact on children: on their safety, their well-being, their future. Only by working together can we keep millions of girls and boys – including those facing poverty, exclusion or violence, and those upended by humanitarian crisis – healthy, safe and learning.   KEEP CHILDREN HEALTHY AND WELL NOURISHED  International efforts to bolster health systems – by ensuring supplies and protective equipment reach affected communities, and training health workers to prevent, diagnose and treat coronavirus disease – will go a long way to fight the virus. But overburdened health systems threaten more than those who fall ill with COVID-19.  In the poorest parts of the world, children in need of basic yet essential services – including those to protect against diseases like pneumonia, malaria and diarrhea – are at risk of not receiving them. Interruptions to supply chains and health care threaten to undermine recent gains in child health, nutri...

WAYS IN WHICH YOU CAN TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR FUTURE, AND PROTECT OUR ENVIRONMENT AND ECOSYSTEMS

Tree Planting. Planting trees gives us, and our environment a lot of benefits.  Planting more trees helps to maintain healthy soils and humidity levels in the air around the world. It begins when trees regulate the water cycle. Trees absorb air and transpire it back into the atmosphere, effectively filtering and controlling the levels of humidity wherever they are. Buy Sustainable Products. Plastic is one of the most significant contributors to soil and marine pollution, endangering both the land and marine life. Plastic isn’t biodegradable, and is often consumed by animals who mistake it as food. When buying a product, be aware of its environmental impact and disposal after use. Companies are now being questioned on their ecological footprint, and changing consumer habits are compelling them to become more sustainable. There are several sustainable brands available today, and it is easier to find out about the products origin, materials and recyclability. When you’re stocking up o...

IT'S MERELY THE BEGINNING

Image
This first quarter, we covered a variety of subjects, including the importance in learning the internet access, applying search terms in doing web research, how the world wide web works, etc. There are a lot of problems/challenges I encountered, some of these are having too much time on using my gadgets, getting distracted on a lot of things, like playing online games with my friend, spending too much time on playing with my pets and more. I was also having a hard time on how to manage my time properly, but my time management is slowly improving each day.   I told myself that I would make good use of my time. I will only use my gadgets for my assignments/tasks; if I want to use my phone for other purposes, such as watching movies or playing games, I will do it during my free time.   Moving on, I will do my very best to study effectively and manage my time wisely since it’s only the beginning. I will also ask the guidance of my teachers and ask help from my family and fr...

HOW TO ATTAIN QUALITY EDUCATION DURING THIS COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Image
On the eve of March 12, 2020, President Duterte announced on the national television that the country will be placed on lockdown for at least 30 days to contain the spread of novel coronavirus (and later on named by the World Health Organization as COVID-19). From that moment the word seemed to stop Work in the government and private sector stopped, including classes of all schools around the country if not the whole world.   The Philippine government particularly the Department of Education came up with the idea that education must continue. Though face to face classes were not possible. We are still lucky that technology has advanced that we can conduct classes through online by means of the internet. Thru this means the teachers can still impart their knowledge to their students.  Modules are still being used but it is less effective because sometimes the parents are the ones answering the said modules. Let us also take note that during the pandemic all members of the famil...

HOW TO CHOOSE THE MOST COMPETENT PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE TOWARDS A MORE RESILIENT PHILIPPINES

Image
My beloved country the Philippines, how can you be more resilient? This is what all leaders of every country aim for. But how? In my humble opinion as a junior high student, a country to be more resilient must focus on the followings: Infrastructures and projects; Public Health and Safety; Peace and Order; And others like Religion; Corruption and good relationship with other countries.   INFRASTRUCTURE & PROJECTS           A resilient government or country like the Philippines must have well planned infrastructures and projects. It must have a fully developed roads and bridges especially those farms to market roads so the farmers and fisherman have a less travel time since their products are perishable. Our leader should take note that we are also an agricultural country.   Furthermore, Philippines is one of the most preferred tourist destinations because of our beautiful beaches like Boracay, Palawan and other wonderful pl...

MY TWO CENTS ON YOUR SIX-YEAR TERM OUR DEAR PRESIDENT DUTERTE

Image
Your term is about to end. I just want to express my views and opinions about your promises when you are still campaigning in order to earn our votes. Your war on drugs, fight against corruption, fight against illegal gambling and your “Build, Build, Build” project are your main platform of governance.   WAR ON DRUGS During your term, “Big-Fishes” are being identified as drug lords. Police generals, politicians and other big-time drug lords were identified and some were even killed during police raid operations. Many users and pushers surrendered. The values of drugs confiscated during drug raids were at an all-time high, even amounting to billions of pesos. Mr. President, I would like to commend you for a job well done. But I just have one concern, please spare the lives of the minor victims because they can still be reformed and lead successful lives. FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission was established under your term. Many corrupt government official...

A TIMID SOUL

Image
My name is Gwyneth Selwyn Timbreza. I am a Grade 10 student at Ilocos Sur National Highschool. My birthday is November 08, 2005 and I was born and raised at Tamag, Vigan City. My parents are Mr. Lawrence Glenn Timbreza and Mrs. Joanne Timbreza. I have two older brothers named Nick and Kent, and I am going to tell you something about myself… I was a shy person back in kindergarten to elementary.  The only person I spoke to was my cousin, I had trouble socializing at the time .  I never wanted to participate in class activities because I was afraid of making mistakes. I have many goals  in life and I knew that I would never achieve them If I am not very social. I tried gaining confidence by trying to start a conversation with a person from my class. Each day I kept practicing by talking to my classmates.  Eventually, I started to feel comfortable with the people around me. I have a group of friends; they were very kind and even volunteered to help me over...
