HOW TO CHOOSE THE MOST COMPETENT PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE TOWARDS A MORE RESILIENT PHILIPPINES

My beloved country the Philippines, how can you be more resilient? This is what all leaders of every country aim for. But how? In my humble opinion as a junior high student, a country to be more resilient must focus on the followings: Infrastructures and projects; Public Health and Safety; Peace and Order; And others like Religion; Corruption and good relationship with other countries.

INFRASTRUCTURE & PROJECTS

A resilient government or country like the Philippines must have well planned infrastructures and projects. It must have a fully developed roads and bridges especially those farms to market roads so the farmers and fisherman have a less travel time since their products are perishable. Our leader should take note that we are also an agricultural country.

Furthermore, Philippines is one of the most preferred tourist destinations because of our beautiful beaches like Boracay, Palawan and other wonderful places like Batanes. We must need a world class airport, 5-star hotels and nice roads & bridges to encourage tourists to visit our country more.

EDUCATION AND JOBS

Education is very important. It is the determining factor if you want to land a nice job in the future. Quality education is a must so that whatever field you, you will be able to excel in your job whether it be in the Government or private sector. But in order that the efforts of the students to study and graduate will not be put into waste, the government must focus on providing job opportunities for graduates.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Health and Safety is also an important concern towards a more resilient Philippines. As we are now experiencing this COVID-19 pandemic, the failure of the government to act promptly and effectively has consequences. Many lives have already lost. Many business establishments have already closed resulting to the loss of jobs for the people. Our economy is already suffering. Therefore, an effective response from the government is very crucial.

PEACE & ORDER

Peace and order are also vital towards a more resilient country. As I have already stated before, our country is one of the most tourist destination for foreigners. Therefore, a peaceful and orderly country especially in those beautiful spots. I remember when Abussyaf Group kidnapped a foreigner couple Martin & Gracia Burnham. This unfortunate incident affected the tourism industry because countries announced travel restrictions to our country to their residents

OTHERS; RELIGION, GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER COUNTRIES & CORRUPTION

Our beloved country, the Philippines is the number one catholic country in Asia. A more resilient country must have citizens whose faith in God is very strong. When a country experience problem beyond its capabilities, it is but proper to ask its citizen to seek help from the Almighty.

Good relationship with other countries is also a factor because if we have problems like natural calamities, other countries will extend their help through their donations. Curving corruption is also an important factor. As we all know countries who were able to address their countries problem in corruption are more resilient and progressive.

Philippine presidential election is approaching. I hope all the people who are qualified to vote will register. And when the election time comes, I hope and pray that who will be the winner must focus on the factors I just mentioned. Since I cannot still vote at my age, my only contribute is to pray for the voters to be able to choose the qualified and competent leaders that will serve out country. May God almighty bless the Philippines with leaders who can make our country more resilient.
