HOW TO ATTAIN QUALITY EDUCATION DURING THIS COVID-19 PANDEMIC

On the eve of March 12, 2020, President Duterte announced on the national television that the country will be placed on lockdown for at least 30 days to contain the spread of novel coronavirus (and later on named by the World Health Organization as COVID-19). From that moment the word seemed to stop Work in the government and private sector stopped, including classes of all schools around the country if not the whole world.

The Philippine government particularly the Department of Education came up with the idea that education must continue. Though face to face classes were not possible. We are still lucky that technology has advanced that we can conduct classes through online by means of the internet. Thru this means the teachers can still impart their knowledge to their students.

Modules are still being used but it is less effective because sometimes the parents are the ones answering the said modules. Let us also take note that during the pandemic all members of the family are at home. This should be taken advantage by the parents or elders to teach their sons and daughters not only lessons being taught in school but also teach them how to do household chores. As the saying goes Parents are the first teachers.

In conclusion, whether face to face or online or the use of modules, it is still up to the students if they can attain quality education. It will still depend on the will and passion of the students to learn during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  1. It is indeed hard to attain quality education this pandemic because not each one of us students have the capability to have everything that we need for the new learning system. But then, that isn't just what we need to have for it is essential that we also possess the will and passion to be great learners. And these two speaks the topic very well. Your blog is on point!

  2. Hi Gwyneth, I like this blog you have posted. The message is clear and on point, and the blog itself is very engaging and fun to read. I agree with what you have written here. It is hard to achieve quality education in a situation like this since distance learning is not as effective as face-to-face classes. Not all students have the capacity to learn on their own, stable internet connection, gadgets for online classes, and assistance from their parents. But then, this is the only way we can still learn while a pandemic is ongoing.
