Independence Day is a day when many people, including government officials, employees, and students, participate in nationwide parades.  However, the main highlight is the police and military parade in Manila headed by the country’s incumbent president, followed by a speech and a 21-gun salute.  Many Filipinos spend the day in parks and malls. Many Filipino communities in other countries also observe the nation’s Independence Day celebrations. The annual June 12 observance of Philippine’s Independence Day came into effect after past President Diosdado Macapagal signed the Republic Act No. 4166 regarding this matter on August 4, 1964.  This Act legalized the holiday, which is based on the Declaration of Independence on June 12, 1898 by General Emilio Aguinaldo and Filipino revolutionary forces from the Spanish colonization.  The Philippines’ flag was raised and its national anthem was played for the first time in 1898.  However, liberty was short-lived because Spain and the United State

I learnt a lot about HTML this quarter. Learning HTML is challenging for me, therefore I had to seek assistance or search on the internet on how to do it. I'm having a lot of trouble learning this topic, but if you understand how the tags work, it's kind of enjoyable.   I am also having troubles in other subjects especially mathematics, I appreciate my friends for helping me by explaining our lessons thoroughly. I am beyond grateful for having them as my friends. I also have problems on time management. I often procrastinate and I don’t recommend you to do the same. Today, I decided to prepare a schedule so that I can properly manage my time and, hopefully, not waste a single second, as time is limited.   Moving forward, I will try my hardest to study efficiently and properly manage my time, as this is only the beginning. I'll also seek advice from my teachers and ask for the the assistance of family and friends who are familiar with the task at hand.   References:   https:

KANNAWIDAN YLOCOS FESTIVAL AMIDST PANDEMIC

Image
Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is one of the most enjoying fiestas of Ilocos Sur. Kannawidan Festival is an annual festival to promote and preserve the culture of the province and its traditions. This festival is a very significant fiesta to every resident in the province of Ilocos Sur as they are celebrating the foundation of Ilocos Sur as a province under the Royal Decree signed on February 2, 1818. But this year, 2022 because of the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic Kannawidan Festival is not that festive compared to other years. Kannawidan means heritage or inheritance and in Ilocano means “tawid”. Kannawidan is a place for showcasing the traditions and cultures of different parts of Ilocos Sur. Kannawidan Festivals also have the highlights including the street dancing, marching band competition, trade fair, and chorale competition, and the most important part is the “one town, one product” of every town in Ilocos Sur. This year is different because of the Pandemic. Many activities were cancel

NEW BEGINNINGS

Image
2021 was a difficult year for me, with a lot of challenges, but I am grateful that I was able to conquer them.  The new year begins and resolutions are made. I am hoping that this year will be full of positivity.   As it is widely believed that New year is a chance for people to get rid of some old habits and bring positive and productive changes in their day to day lives. People from all walks of life set target and make resolutions in order to lead happy, content, peaceful and prosperous life.   I often procrastinate studies and uses time carelessly and indulges in the wanton activities which adversely affect my studies. It is very necessary for me to set the target every year and try every waking moment to get the desired and set target. Every student must dream to do something productive because dreaming and materializing dreams is akin to success. I am also a student and being a student, I have also made resolutions before, but just like anybody else, I too break it up. But this t

A HOLIDAY SEASON CANNOT BE GUTTED BY THE PANDEMIC

Image
The Christmas season is here! However, we are still in the midst of a global epidemic that turned our life upside down. Many people are asking if there is a way to make the holidays more festive this year, or if we will simply have to let it go this year. The COVID-19 pandemic has been stressful and isolating for many people. The year 2020 has already proven itself to be a difficult year, and at this point it's expected that our Christmas celebration will look a little different too. Many of people lost their jobs, business, and still finding a way on how to recover. But a global pandemic doesn't have to ruin the festive season completely. We can still celebrate Christmas this year in our own little ways. Christmas is a season of giving, but remember that presence is more important than gifts. To make your Christmas party complete, you don't need to acquire tangible items. I hope we understand that having a fun time with our loved ones is more important than material stuff.

Disruptions to society have a heavy impact on children: on their safety, their well-being, their future. Only by working together can we keep millions of girls and boys – including those facing poverty, exclusion or violence, and those upended by humanitarian crisis – healthy, safe and learning.   KEEP CHILDREN HEALTHY AND WELL NOURISHED  International efforts to bolster health systems – by ensuring supplies and protective equipment reach affected communities, and training health workers to prevent, diagnose and treat coronavirus disease – will go a long way to fight the virus. But overburdened health systems threaten more than those who fall ill with COVID-19.  In the poorest parts of the world, children in need of basic yet essential services – including those to protect against diseases like pneumonia, malaria and diarrhea – are at risk of not receiving them. Interruptions to supply chains and health care threaten to undermine recent gains in child health, nutrition and developmen
